     A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of smart home batteries connected via cloud software. When       the Australian grid faces peak stress (like a hot summer evening), the VPP provider can draw a tiny bit of stored power from your battery to stabilise the grid.

  The Benefit: You get paid premium rates for the power you share, alongside securing thousands off your battery installation via the NSW PDRS subsidy.

  Control: You always retain a guaranteed reserve of power for your own home emergency needs. Joining is completely optional, but highly lucrative.


  
 How fast does the battery backup kick in during a blackout?

Backup speeds depend strictly on your choice of inverter and battery wiring configuration:

    Seamless/Instantaneous (UPS)**: Brands like ESYSunhome and premium hybrid setups from Fronius, Sungrow, or GoodWe can switch your home over to battery backup in under 10 to 20 milliseconds. This is faster than a blink; your lights won't flicker, and your Wi-Fi or home computers won't reset.

    Standard Switchover**: Standard automatic configurations change over within 2 to 5 seconds of detecting a grid drop.
